Public input is sought on plans for construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Lexington-Springmill and Home roads in Troy Township.

The Richland County Engineer’s Office, in coordination with the Ohio Department of Transportation District 3, is proposing the $4.6 million project that includes the relocation of the B&O Trail along with stormwater updates, culvert replacements and street lighting improvements. Engineer Adam Gove said the roundabout is necessary to improve safety by reducing crash frequency and severity at the intersection.

Construction of the roundabout would begin in spring 2026 and last approximately 150 days. The project would require a detour for a portion of the construction. The closure would occur during the summer and last approximately 90 days.

For project information — including project schematic plan, proposed detour route and site renderings — visit the Richland County Engineer’s website at rcengineer.com. General project comments may be submitted via email at info@rcengineer.com or by mail at Richland County Engineer, 77 N. Mulberry St., Mansfield, OH 44903.

Effects to the B&O Trail are described on the engineer’s website with instructions for submitting comments specific to the trail.

Comments must be received no later than July 31.
