The story will continue with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) heading back to Scotland. At the same time, Roger Mackenzie (Richard) and Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton) are reeling from the abduction of their son Jemmy (Blake Johnston-Miller) by Rob Cameron (Chris Fulton).
As the latest season heads towards its climax, Richard hints that the final episodes will pack an emotional punch, reports the Express . "It was a very emotional read-through," he revealed. "We had photos up from all the past seasons of the show."
Production for the eighth season is in progress after being delayed by strikes in Hollywood. Starz is aiming for a mid-to-late 2025 release for the last chapter, promising a nostalgic journey for both the cast and viewers after over ten years on air.
Recently, the cast has been filming at Castle Leoch, the setting for much of the first season of Outlander. "You can feel the nostalgia and what it meant to people," Richard remarked during an interview with Square Mile. "There were a lot of tears in the room that day."
Teasing the upcoming thrills for Roger in the latter half of season seven, the actor shared: "The second half of season seven is really some of the best stuff I think we've shot for Outlander."

"It's an incredible adventure for Roger, because we don't often see him without [his wife] Brianna they've always been such a team."
While the specifics of future episodes are kept under wraps, fans are eager for details, especially with 10 books planned in Diana Gabaldon's series, and each season typically adapting one book. Yet, the show's final chapter might diverge from Diana's written path to give the Frasers' tale a fitting finale.
But fear not, Outlander enthusiasts, as the saga continues with the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood, delving into Jamie's parents' history.
