PLANNING THE NEXT 24 HOURS: High pressure continues to keep our weather conditions quiet most of the day Monday, however, clouds will start to increase through the afternoon. Rain and storm chances will return early Tuesday morning.

EXTENDED FORECAST: After some isolated showers and storms during the afternoon, a second round of widespread storms is expected Tuesday evening. While conditions don't look impressive now, we may make Tuesday an ALERT DAY for isolated chances for severe weather and heavy rainfall, especially in southwest Wisconsin. Though the best chance of severe weather remains just to the southwest of Wisconsin over southern Iowa and northern Missouri. The shower and thunderstorm chance does continue through the 4th, but latest data does suggest a break possible during most firework shows.
