General manager Doug Armstrong has been working the trade market with two deals made during the week of the 2024 Draft. With the 2024 NHL Entry Draft wrapping up in Las Vegas on June 29, all 32 teams added plenty of hopeful future NHLers to their organizations. Some teams made surprising moves, while others found themselves getting possible steals. Grading drafts almost immediately after the conclusion of it (especially an NHL Draft) is tough and can certainly prove to be wrong down the road, but with that said, let’s take a shot at it and see what they all look like in a few seasons.

Grading Each Team’s 2024 Draft Class

Anaheim, CA

The Anaheim Ducks selected Beckett Sennecke as the No. 3 overall pick of the NHL Draft 2024 at The Sphere in Las Vegas. Sennecke was the first shocker of this year's NHL Draft. For many analysts, he was projected to be drafted later in the top 10. FloHockey's mock draft projected Sennecke to be drafted seventh overall.

49ers running back and future Hall of Famer Christian McCaffrey and gorgeous model Olivia Culpo became husband and wife over the weekend. The two said “I do” in Rhode Island on June 29th in a beautiful but simple ceremony. Classy and elegant are two other perfect descriptors for Ms. Culpo’s look. McCaffrey and Culpo have been together since 2019 and have been engaged for over a year. It was about time for the running back to lock it down. After all, Culpo broke her rule of not dating another athlete for him. It’s the least he could do.

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired the 21st overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for the 26th, 57th, and 198th overall picks. The Kings now have one second-round pick since they traded away their own second-round pick to dump Cal Petersen’s contract. The Canadiens move up five spots in the first round.

The Minnesota Wild took the bull by the horns on Friday night. They did what 10 other teams should have done and that is draft Zeev Buium out of Denver University. He was projected to go in the top five but he started to slip a little bit. By the time he got to 10, it was a shock that the New Jersey Devils didn’t take him. Then, the San Jose Sharks passed on him at 11. Both NJ and SJ took defensemen in those spots too.
