Underdog Fantasy recently launched the second part of “Hot Best Ball Summer,” featuring a brand new contest format known as “The Marathon.”. The Marathon is a cumulative scoring tournament where each week counts the same, with no playoffs. At the end of the fantasy regular season, the top 23,000 teams out of 150,000 total entries get paid out, based on the total points accumulated in Weeks 1-17. In this article, I’m going to break down how my strategy differs in this particular tournament compared to Best Ball Mania.

Best Ball Strategy: The Marathon

One of the first aspects of Sunday’s nine-game MLB DFS slate that jumps out is that there is immense upside in some of this starting pitching but it’s going to come with big risks. I see multiple pitchers that can threaten the 30 DK point threshold or they could get utterly bombed and it’s going to be difficult to tell which side they land on before the slate.

National outlet The Sporting News released its first 2024-25 college football bowl game projections and the Colorado Buffaloes landed a spot in one of the five New Year’s Eve games.
In the early forecast, head coach Deion Sanders’ Buffs are matched up against the ACC’s North Carolina State Wolfpack in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, one of the oldest annual events in college football. Last year, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish beat the Oregon State Beavers, 40-8, in the 90th Sun Bowl.
Surprisingly, Colorado has never traveled to El Paso, Texas for the Sun Bowl. NC State has done so once, beating Arizona State in 2017.
While Coach Prime would like to see Colorado sneak into the new 12-team College Football Playoff, reaching the Sun Bowl would mark a great step forward for the Buffs. Typically, the Sun Bowl hosts teams with seven or eight regular season wins.
