Pretty Freekin Scary will not be returning to the network for a second season, TVLine has confirmed with Disney Channel.

Rumblings about the acquired live-action series’ unfortunate fate first started months ago via streaming analyst Drew Ryan ‘s socials, and were recently bolstered by Instagram comments made by cast member Eliana Su’a .

Pretty Freekin Scary Season 1, which aired its finale in August 2023, followed Frankie Ripp (played by 9-1-1′ s Su’a) as her life took a turn following an accident. According to the official description, “After some heated debate in the Underworld with the Grim Reaper herself, Frankie is forced to navigate life with her new Underworld guardians, Pretty and Scary, in the most challenging setting of all… middle school!”

In addition to Su’a, the live-action children’s horror series starred Kyan Samuels ( Game Shakers ) as Pretty, Leah Mei Gold ( The Casagrandes ) as Scary, Yonas Kibreab ( Sweet Tooth ) as Remy and Emma Shannon ( The Righteous Gemstones ) as Nyx.

Pretty Freekin Scary is the latest of several Disney Channel shows to reach its end in the past year. Camping comedy Bunk’d will begin airing its final batch of episodes on July 5, bringing the Jessie spinoff to a close after seven seasons, while TVLine previously confirmed that Saturdays will not be skating into Season 2 . Additionally, no further Secrets of Sulphur Springs will be uncovered, following the mystery series’ cancellation after three seasons.

In a case of bad news/good news, the That’s So Raven sequel series Raven’s Home is also not returning , for what would have been its seventh season. Instead, the network is developing Alice in the Palace , a spinoff which will send the character Alice (Mykal-Michelle Harris) back to England to reunite with her doppelgänger Duchess Clementine; Harris will play both roles.
