Boil order in effect on south side of Vigo County

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A boil order is in effect on the south side of Vigo County.

UPDATE – Statement from Vigo County Commissioner Mark Clinkenbeard:

“Looks like about 2,000 people are without water right now or out of service, including our Fowler Park. Right now there’s a boil order and they hope to have this back up and running soon, so just be patient and keep a lookout on Facebook, Indiana American Water Facebook, and ours and we will keep you updated on that.”

According to a Facebook post from Vigo County Commissioner Chris Switzer:

Indiana American Water is reporting around 2,000 customers without water. The affected area runs along US-150 and includes parts of Allendale, Youngstown, Prairieton, and Pimento. They are currently working to repair a broken water main.
