Think back to when you were a kid, going to daycare or school for the first time. There's a good chance you brought something along to remind you of home and offer a little comfort, like a favorite stuffed animal, to help ease the transition. If you've been lucky enough to be a pet parent, you've probably noticed that dogs are a lot like little kids in many ways; they definitely have their comfort items, too, like their favorite stuffies, blankets, and chew toys.

And since going to doggie daycare or boarding overnight can be a bit scary for some pups, it only makes sense that they be allowed to bring their comfort items with them, too... and one facility that encourages it is sharing their favorite things that dogs have brought with them from home.

On Monday, June 24, @barkavenueomaha shared a peek at the dogs in their care and what they brought with them, and the items range from totally sweet to totally unexpected.

They started strong with Toby, who brought green beans (and no, we don't know why). Multiple dogs bring their favorite blankets, but Bentley's is the best one — how do you top a blanket that looks like a giant tortilla?

Then, there's a little white dog named Chalupa who showed up with a tiny pink cow, and another little white dog named Abby who brought a whole slew of toys (it's okay, I can't pack light to save my life, either).

The video ends with Scout, a very happy Golden Retriever , who is proud to show off his chew toy that looks like corn. A respectable choice!

What to Know Before Boarding Your Dog

If you're boarding your dog overnight for the first time, it can be stressful to prepare, and if you're anything like me, you'll be worried that your dog is okay without you there. But if they're in the right hands, they should be perfectly happy and safe while you're gone.

How do you know they're in the right hands, though? According to the American Kennel Club, there are a few things you should look for before choosing a facility to board your dog .

You'll want to do your research ahead of time. Call the kennels you're considering and ask for a tour, and don't be afraid to ask plenty of questions when you visit.

The AKC says that a reputable kennel, should require immunizations, be willing to let you see the entire facility, and see the workers there in action with the dogs.

You may also ask to do a test run, and drop your dog off for a day or just a few hours before they're staying overnight, to see how your dog likes the facility.

Who knows? Your dog might have so much fun they don't want to leave. Especially if another dog there is willing to share their burrito blanket...
