Shemar Moore’s Response to Expanding the Family Shows His Priorities as a First-Time Dad in His Fifties

Shemar Moore and his girlfriend Jesiree Dizon welcomed a daughter back in 2023, and at 52, he became a father. But fast forward to now, the summer of 2024, and many are wondering, will he welcome a little sibling for their daughter Frankie?

In a recent interview with People , Moore talked about the idea of expanding the family even more.

“Possibly. But I ain’t no Spring Chicken and Ms. Thing [Dizon], she’s already got two wonderful kids — her son, Kayden, who’s 17, and her little daughter Charlie, who’s 6 — and they’re sweethearts,” Moore said to the outlet. “And then we got little Frankie. We got our dog, Tyson. So we got a full house.”

That definitely does sound like a full house! But then he added another glimpse into his mindset about welcoming more children, and his answer has everything to do with being a first-time dad in his 50s.

He added, “I’m not going to live forever. And let’s say I make it to 90, that puts Frankie at 37. So I’d rather give her 37 years of all of me, than worry twice and split that up.”

For those who don’t know, Moore and his longtime girlfriend Dizon announced in early Jan 2023 that they were expecting their first child together. Mere weeks later, they welcomed their daughter Frankie into the world on Jan 24, 2023.

(As previously mentioned, Dizon also has two children from previous relationships: a son named Kaiden and a daughter named Charli.)

Moore previously talked to People earlier this year about how he loves everything about fatherhood, and how his daughter is already a lot like him. “I get the opportunity to be Daddy. And now it’s not about me anymore. Now everything I do is for her…I got the most amazing, beautiful little lady…she’s a happy lady,” he said. “It’s just so fun to watch her evolve.”
