Miles Russell has made his PGA Tour debut at the age of just 15 and so far he appears to be a TaylorMade purist.

Coming out to his PGA Tour debut at the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic, Russell has been tooled up by TaylorMade.

TaylorMade also secured Russell his PGA Tour debut with a sponsor exemption.

The brand signed the young amateur golfer to an NIL deal in April of this year.

“I have had a great relationship with the team at TaylorMade for years now and couldn’t be more excited to continue to work with them in the future,” Russell said.

“TaylorMade has a history of developing the top junior talent in the world to help reach their goals of becoming PGA TOUR and major championship winners. I am looking forward to working with the team to reach those and other goals I have laid out for my career.”

What’s in the bag for Miles Russell?

From the tee, he uses the Tour favourite TaylorMade Qi10 LS. This club is favoured by Tiger Woods, Collin Morikawa, Tommy Fleetwood and more.

He also deploys a Qi10 Tour 3-wood with a Monstar Premium 67 X shaft and a Qi10 5-wood with a Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X shaft. Rory McIlroy and Morikawa are pros who have used the same 5-wood.

Russell starts his irons off with a TaylorMade P770 4-iron with a True Temper Dynamic Gold 105 shaft, while his 5-9 irons are all in the TaylorMade P7MC model with True Temper Dynamic Gold 120 Tour Issue X100 shafts.

His wedges gapped at 46, 52, 56, 60 degrees are all TaylorMade Milled Grind 4s. The Milled Grind 4 utilizes laser-etched spin tread and a raw face aimed at providing better bite around the greens and also superior spin in wet conditions. TaylorMade believe refined shaping creates a smooth aesthetic that inspires creativity around the greens, while they claim the improved mass distribution provides a solid feel.

His putter is the TaylorMade TP Soto and this club and his wedges are stamped with “Smiles”. The putter sports flowing contours and a single sightline on the back cavity, its time-honoured shape is meant to inspire confidence and produce results too.
