    Wi Ha-Joon‘s latest K-drama, The Midnight Romance in Hagwon, had something for everyone. The final episode not only ended well for those who were rooting for the lead couple, Seo Hye-Jin (Jung Ryeo-Won) and Lee Joon-Ho (Wi Ha-Joon), but it also had thrills and politics. The popular Korean series aired episode 16 on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. KST on tvN, and it is now streaming on Viki.

    Episode 16 of The Midnight Romance in Hagwon ended happily with Seo Hye-Jin and Lee Joon-Ho collaborating to save the Daechi Chase Academy from rivals Choi Hyeong-Seon and Wu Seung-Hee. They also retained most of their instructors while putting their rivals in place. Eventually, Joon-Ho proposed to Hye-Jin, and the two got engaged.

    The Midnight Romance in Hagwon finale documented significant drama as Seo Hye-Jin and Lee Joon-Ho fought hard to beat their rivals and restore Daechi Chase. Together, they ensured to cause a rift between their rivals, Choi Hyeong-Seon and Wu Seung-Hee. Moreover, the couple received support from fellow instructors who stood by them instead of siding with the rivals. By the end of the episode, Joon-Ho asks Hye-Jin to marry him, to which she agrees.

    Did Wu Seung-Hee persuade Hye-Jin’s aides?

    The final episode 16 of The Midnight Romance in Hagwon began with a fellow employee, Min-Jin, resigning because of Wu Seung-Hee’s offer. The latter’s next target was Seo Hye-Jin’s teaching assistant. Meanwhile, Joon-Ho met with Seung-Hee’s spy, Lee Myung-Joon, for drinks and convinced the latter to take his side.

    On the other hand, Yoon Ji-Seok decided to side with Wu Seung-Hee. They discussed having Min-Jin on their side and taking down Daechi Chase altogether. As Joon-Ho tried to understand Seung-Hee’s plan from Myung-Joon, Hye-Jin opened up to her friend about her growing feelings for Joon-Ho. The following day, Hye-Jin’s teaching assistant met with Seung-Hee and Ji-Seok. Meanwhile, Joon-Ho and Hye-Jin discussed Min-Jin’s resignation with director Kim Hyun-Tak.

    Wu Seung-Bee caught Hye-Jin’s assistant trying to record their conversation and asked the latter to stop. She then seduced her by offering her a scholarship if the assistant brought Joon-Ho along. On her way back, the assistant met with student Ha-Yool, who expressed gratitude to her and Hye-Jin. The assistant revealed details about her conversation with Sung-Hee to Joon-Ho and Hye-Jin and decided to side with the two.

    Hye-Jin and Joon-Ho manage to beat their rivals

    Joon-Ho prompted Myung-Joon to tell Seung-Hee that Choi Hyeong-Seon preferred Hye-Jin over her. At the same time, Hye-Jin met with Hyeong-Seon at Choiseon Korean. Seung-Hee rushed to confront Hyeong-Seon about Myung-Joon’s revelation. At the same time, Joon-Ho also rushed to Choiseon Korean.

    Hye-Jin sought her self-respect back from Hyeong-Seon. She reminded the Choiseon Korean director that all her plans had never succeeded. Hye-Jin further noted that Hyeong-Seon’s plans to use her material, place student Shi-Woo as a spy, and use many other tactics never worked. As the two were having a conversation, Seung-Hee and Joon-Ho arrived in the room.

    Joon-Ho revealed how Myung-Joon sided with him, which infuriated Hyeong-Seon. Hye-Jin and Joon-Ho planned to draw a wedge between Hyeong-Seon and Seung-Hee. The two rivals began arguing over their disagreements and buried secrets. Eventually, Seung-Hee slapped Hyeong-Seon, and the latter further engaged in more abuse. The two ladies began to fight, ending their careers and giving Hyeong-Jin a much-needed closure.

    Did Wi Ha-Joon & Jung Ryeo-Won get their happy ending?

    The whole incident led Hye-Jin to reflect on her career. She realized that she was so busy making money that she never pursued what she was passionate about, which was law. She quit Daechi Chase as an instructor and enrolled in a law school. Hye-Jin also initially declined Joon-Ho’s offer to move in together. However, Joon-Ho asked her to think through it.

    Meanwhile, Choi Seung-Gyu decided to marry Nam Cheong-Mi and told his mother, Kim Hyo-Im, about the same. The latter became the assistant director of Daechi Chase and requested director Kim Hyun-Tak to make Cheong-Mi the face of the academy after Hye-Jin. After Hyun-Tak revealed this to Hye-Jin, she expressed no problems with it as she was already going to quit the academy.

    By the end of the episode, Hye-Jin attended Joon-Ho’s class when the latter proposed to her. Although she was taken aback, Hye-Jin accepted his proposal, giving the two a happy ending.

    Will there be a The Midnight Romance in Hagwon Season 2?

    All the characters in the K-drama received complete closure. Hye-Jin realized her true passion, while Joon-Ho decided to grow as an instructor. They also saved their relationship from many challenges and agreed to be together forever. Other characters, like Nam Cheong-Mi, director Kim Hyun-Tak, and more, also received a happy ending. Meanwhile, rivals Choi Hyeong-Seon and Wu Seung-Hee met an unfateful end.

    With the episode ending on a happy note, it is doubtful that the drama will have a Season 2. Meanwhile, viewers can stream all episodes of The Midnight Romance in Hagwon are available to stream on Viki.
