Summer sundresses are beloved for a reason; they’re cute, make you feel very pretty and are a great way to stay cool while looking good in the warm weather. And linen dresses are even better because the lightweight fabric allows for more airflow and really adds to the summertime feel. That’s why one of H&M’s linen-blend dresses is a “perfect” summer dress, according to customers. Plus it looks a lot like a Reformation style that’s over seven times the price.
We’re talking about H&M’s Linen-Blend Midi Dress , which is currently $37.99. The dress has a tighter bust area with a square neckline and a skirt that flares or flows out from under the waist. It’s a midi dress, meaning that it’s calf-length, and has very thin, adjustable straps. The back is smocked so that the fit is comfortable while also being fitted on top. This dress also has “shaping seems” on the front of the bodice while the skirt gathers at the waist.
According to reviews, this dress is a showstopper—especially when it comes to the linen blend, which is 53% linen and 47% rayon (with a 100% cotton lining).
“Probably one of my favorite linen dresses I’ve purchased this year!” one reviewer wrote. “It is a soft linen and lined as well…”
Another person wrote that they “needed a flowy sundress and this one was perfect.” And even though they wrote that they had to size down, they enjoyed the “great” quality of the dress and how it felt overall.
“I love my new H&M purchase,” one other shopper said. “The linen midi dress fits true to size. The quality is excellent as it is lined and is of very substantial fabric. I can dress it up or down with a pair of sandals and a shell necklace as I live on Maui, it fits in perfectly.”
H&M’s dress comes in sizes XS through XXL and in three colors: green floral, blue patterned and white/blue floral. The latter is the one that looks very similar to a Reformation dress, which we mentioned before. The dress in question is the Reformation Monette Linen Midi Dress , which is currently $278 at Anthropologie and Saks Fifth Avenue .
The design of Reformation’s dress is very similar to H&M’s, from the tight bodice down to the smocked back and flowy skirt that flares out at the waist. Plus the blue motif pattern of the Reformation dress is almost identical to H&M’s white/blue floral pattern. Reformation’s Monotte Linen Midi Dress also has a square neckline and thin straps.
So if you’re in the market for a flowy, linen dress that you can dress up or down, H&M’s Linen-Blend Midi Dress is a good item to try. Some sizes are already sold out—so they're going fast!
