    Safety measures to take, follow on July 4

    GREENVILLE, N.C (WNCT) — With the Fourth of July fast approaching, health experts and local law enforcement are warning people of the dangers and risks that come with holiday festivities.

    Many people may be spending time with friends and family at the beach. In this case, paying special close attention to your hydration and skin protection is important. If you have children, always keeping a close eye on them is encouraged.

    Of course, with the Fourth of July, comes fireworks. Lee Darnell from the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says to always use caution.

    “Fireworks, that that’s always a concern on any holiday like July 4 th ,” he said.

    “People will call in and be concerned about the fireworks they’re hearing around them. A lot of people are concerned because their animals are scared.
