Southeast Portland Rotary Club closes: The 60-year-old Southeast Portland Rotary Club is dissolving effective July 1, after many years of service and making a difference in Southeast Portland. The reason is a decline in membership below a sustainable level. In closing the club and its concurrent nonprofit foundation, the entire treasury of the foundation was dispersed in a series of grants, including substantial grants to “The Meals on Wheels People”, and to the Sellwood Community House. Memories of Southeast Portland Rotary will remain available for a limited time online – http://www.southeastportlandrotary.com – but meantime, former members of the club are urged to consider joining East Portland Rotary, which meets for a luncheon meeting on Thursday noons in the Garden Garage meeting room of the Moda Center, with all meetings carried live on ZOOM as well. East Portland Rotary was the original sponsor of Southeast Portland Rotary sixty years ago. For more information on the East Portland Rotary Club, go online – http://www.eastportlandrotary.org
