Jurgen Klopp has given his first interview since leaving Liverpool as he enjoys life away from football – he’s still keeping in touch with his former Reds stars though .

Klopp has been spotted at a number of events since he brought the curtain down on his time in charge of Liverpool. The German was at the Champions League final to watch his former club Borussia Dortmund in action , before he made a return to Anfield last month for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour .

Since then, the 57-year-old has been in Mallorca where he owns a luxury villa, and has been spotted again at another event – this time at the Mallorca Championships tennis tournament.

Having been given a rousing reception by the crowd , Klopp was interviewed by ESPN journalist Agos Larocca , with the former Liverpool boss asked who he thought would win Euro 2024. Clearly not wanting to pick any favorites though, with a number of his former players in action for some of the favorites, Klopp hedged his bets.

"In the moment, it looks a little bit like Spain could do it. Germany is good, France will be good, England will be better definitely," Klopp said.

He was then asked the same about Copa America, and took a similar approach as he revealed he had been in touch with one of his former stars. "Argentina or Brazil; or Colombia or Uruguay,” Klopp added. “I texted yesterday with Alisson , I cannot make that decision."

Asked what he had enjoyed the most about his time in Mallorca, Klopp replied: "Where can I start? I pretty much like everything about it, to be honest. But I am not long enough here yet. We tried to figure out what we like most."

Liverpool.com says: Good to see Klopp is staying in touch with his former players. He built up such a special bond with them during his time at Liverpool that it seems he can still speak to them all as friends now. Hopefully he’s telling one or two of them to extend their stays at Anfield…
