Five Guys, Chipotle and Jersey Mike’s restaurants coming to Manatee County, records say

Three well-known national chain fast dining restaurants are coming to Bradenton.

Five Guys, Chipotle Mexican Grill and Jersey Mike’s Subs are the latest planned tenants for the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour near State Road 64 and Interstate 75, according to documents filed with Manatee County Development Services in June.

Two separate buildings are under review for construction, according to county records, to house the three casual quick-service dining options.

Five Guys, a popular burger chain with 123 restaurants in Florida, is adding its third Bradenton store. Five Guys has two existing locations in Manatee County at 6783 Manatee Avenue W. and 8435 Cooper Creek Blvd.

According to company history, Five Guys began in the Washington D.C. area in 1986 and has grown to include more than 1,700 locations in North America, Europe and Asia. The menu features burgers, hot dogs, fries, milkshakes, sandwiches and drinks made to order.

There’s competition, though, as Texas-based Whataburger — also specializing in made-to-order burgers — is planned for the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour.

Meanwhile, the shopping center marks the fourth Chipotle Mexican Grill , founded in 1993 in Denver, Colorado, for Manatee County. There are two traditional stores at 11715 State Road 70 E. and 1608 Cortez Road W., plus a third location with a “Chipotlane” at 6020 U.S. Highway 301 North in Ellenton.

Chipotlane is Chipotle’s version of a drive-thru introduced in 2019, according to Forbes. Chipotle’s menu features burritos, burrito bowls, salads, quesadillas, tacos, drinks, chips and sides in a fast-casual dining experience.

Jersey Mike’s Subs, which offers hot and cold subs, drinks, sides and desserts, was founded in Point Pleasant, New Jersey in 1956. The store at the Heritage Harbour shopping center marks the sixth Jersey Mike’s in Manatee County. Other stores are located at 6737 Manatee Avenue W., 4020 14th St. W., 5820 Ranch Lake Boulevard, 4306 State Road 64 E. and 8210 Tourist Center Drive.

Jersey Mike’s isn’t the only Garden State connection to the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour.

Edgewood Properties of Piscataway, New Jersey is the shopping center’s developer, which scored its first tenant in 2019 when Costco opened.

Here’s what is open at the shopping center and what is to come:

    • Costco opened in 2019 at 805 Lighthouse Drive in Marketplace at Heritage Harbour. The warehouse measures 155,000 square feet.
    • Miller’s Ale House opened in November at 7175 State Road 64 E. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating for more than 200 guests, over 60 TVs and a Florida Room with garage-style exterior walls that can be raised.
    • LongHorn Steakhouse , known for its western-themed steak offerings, plans to bring a restaurant to Heritage Harbour. It is the brand’s second Bradenton restaurant.

    • Whole Foods Market , would be the first of its brand in Manatee County. “We can confirm this store is in development. We do not have any additional information to share at this time,” a Whole Foods communications specialist said in a previous email with the Herald.

    • Target plans for a 150,000-square-foot space at 725 Lighthouse Drive.

    • Academy Sports + Outdoors has a 62,966-square-foot store under construction, on the opposite side of a roundabout from Costco. Academy sells hunting, fishing, and camping equipment and gear, along with sports and leisure products, footwear and apparel.

    • Hobby Lobby signed a lease for a 55,000-square-foot store at 805 Lighthouse Drive. The company sells arts-and-crafts items , fabrics, floral and wedding supplies, cards and party ware, baskets, wearable art, home decor and holiday merchandise.

    • Panda Express , known for its signature crispy orange chicken dish, is planned for 7105 State Road 64 E.

    • Whataburger , the first of its brand in Manatee County, is planned for 7267 State Road 64 E.
