Apple's “vintage” list is essentially a list of devices the company has decided to no longer support with updates. A product usually makes the list five years after Apple has stopped selling it, though it can still be taken to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers for repairs for two years after it's put out to pasture.
