The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed a new rule that requires carriers to make cell phones unlockable within 60 days after purchase.

The purpose of this is to make it easier for users to switch from one wireless service provider to another.

This new policy will help put the power back into the consumer’s hands and prevents users from being locked into their carriers.
