Arrest made following woman being fatally stabbed inside Chesterfield home

Chesterfield Police say they have arrested a suspect in connection to the fatal stabbing of a woman inside of a home.

Police say at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, they were called to the 6400 block of Kings Crest Court for a reported disturbance.

Once on scene, officers say they found an adult woman who had been stabbed multiple times. That victim has been identified as 48-year-old Kelli S. Patel.

The victim was taken to the hospital but would die from her injuries.

Chesterfield police say they have arrested Noell J. Brandon, a 37-year-old, in connection to the death. He now faces charges for second-degree murder and unlawful stabbing in the commission of a felony.

Investigators say that Patel and Brandon were known to each other at the time of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.

A woman was fatally stabbed Sunday night inside a Chesterfield County home.
Police were called to the 6400 block of Kings Crest Court, off Cogbill Road, at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday to investigate a reported disturbance.

"On scene, officers located an adult female inside the residence suffering from stab wounds," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson wrote in an email. "She was transported to an area hospital where she died from her injuries. At this time, the victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin."
