    Chesterfield County Public Schools to host book party with free books, games and food

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Students in Chesterfield County will be able to get up to five free books while enjoying other festivities at El Librotazo, a book party hosted by Chesterfield County Public Schools.

    The book party will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9 at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, located at 10300 Courthouse Road.

    According to organizers, every child from birth through high school will get up to five books to keep for their home libraries.

    Families are asked to register by July 1 for free tickets here .

    Books will be available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese, Pashto, Dari, Ukrainian and braille.

    In addition to free books, attendees will also be able to try their hand at obstacle courses and jump on inflatables, according to organizers. Crafts will be led by the Children’s Museum of Richmond and games will be led by Chesterfield Parks and Recreation.

    Guests can also enjoy music and cultural performances, as well as hot dogs, popsicles and popcorns.
