NBA legend Dwight Howard sees big things ahead for Victor Wembanyama after the San Antonio Spurs landed Chris Paul in free agency.

The Golden State Warriors waived Paul ahead of his $30 million contract guarantee date on Sunday, making the veteran point guard free to see with any team at the start of free agency. It didn't take long for him to find a new team, eventually agreeing to a one-year, $11 million deal with the Spurs.

After hearing of the Spurs' move, Howard took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his take on the signing . And it's safe to say he liked the move, going as far as to saying that Paul will help turn Wembanyama into a scoring monster.

"I like CP3 with the Spurs. Wemby gone win the scoring title," Howard predicted.

One of the Spurs' biggest priorities this offseason was a point guard who could unlock their offense and utilize Wembanyama to his full potential. Sure enough, having one of the best minds and facilitators in the game addresses that need.

The Spurs tried to turn forward Jeremy Sochan into a point guard in Wemby's rookie season, but it didn't really yield significant results. With Chris Paul now in tow, Victor Wembanyama--who averaged 21.4 points on 46.5 percent shooting in 2023-24--is definitely poised to increase his scoring production.

Now it's unknown if Paul can actually propel Wembanyama to the scoring title, but it's easy to assume that the Frenchman will be even harder to stop offensive with a proper playmaker beside him.
