    A McDonald County man is taken to the hospital following a large explosion

    McDonald County, MO – McDonald County First Responders rush a person to the hospital after an explosion Saturday morning. County deputies were in talks with a possible suicide subject when the explosion happened. First responders could gain access and remove the victim from the building. The victim was transported via helicopter to a hospital and the McDonald County deputy was also treated at the hospital he has since been discharged.

    Newton County, MO – Newton County First Responders are alerted to a report of a train striking a car Saturday evening. The incident occurred near Tipton Ford access off of old Highway 71. Missouri state troopers say the car got stuck on the tracks after the driver mistook it for a road. The occupants of the vehicle did exit the car before the train slammed into it.

    Fort Scott, KS – Fort Scott residents are advised to avoid Broadway Avenue between 5th and 6th streets until further notice. A sinkhole has formed following the collapse of a storm drain in the area. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. Residents living within the block will still have access to their homes. You are advised to make your entry via 6th street.
