An unopposed run will guarantee Collier County's top law enforcement officer keeps his seat for another four years.
Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk is headed into his fifth term after he became the only candidate to qualify past Friday's deadline. It is the second consecutive election he runs unopposed.
While the General Election is in November and a primary in August, no challengers guarantee him the spot.
His new term begins Jan. 7. The position pays $202,737.
Kevin Rambosk has long career in law enforcement
Rambosk was first elected sheriff in 2008, running on a 30-year record as a law enforcement officer and government official in Collier County, including stints as Naples police chief, Naples city manager and Collier County undersheriff for three years.
Voters have overwhelmingly chosen Rambosk over challengers
In 2008, Rambosk won 74.3% of the vote and garnered 27,715 votes — and has gained traction with the electorate in each ballot since.

The sheriff is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Class 172; and earned his master’s degree in business administration from Nova University. He previously earned his bachelor’s degree in public safety administration from William Paterson University.
