Police are investigating two suspicious deaths in Adams County after the bodies of a woman and her son were discovered in Strongs Prairie.

An investigation launched June 27 after a report that 62-year-old Sharon Miller, of Friendship, had been out of contact for several days and was not at her home. Her son, 38-year-old Jami Lumby, was also not at the home, officials said.

Deputies arrived and discovered freshly disturbed ground, prompting a search warrant. Miller’s body was found beneath the soil, prompting police to seek help from the public locating Lumby.

But a short time later, Lumby’s body was also found on the property. Both deaths are being investigated as suspicious, said Adams County Sheriff Brent York.

“The Adams County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to this investigation, and has dedicated every available resource to this investigation,” York said, in a June 30 news release.

Staff from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and Special Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation continue to collect and analyze evidence, and are conducting interviews. DOJ Crime Response Specialists are assisting family members in this investigation.

The Sheriff’s Department is again asking for the public’s assistance. If anyone has had any recent contact with Sharon or Jami, contact the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at 1-877-885-7786 or submit an anonymous tip from the Sheriff App (https://apps.myocv.com/share/a112253934).
