A deli in Long Island has become a social media sensation with its unique "dill" of a sandwich .

Seven Brothers Gourmet's pickle sandwich has taken TikTok by storm. Patrons can choose their preferred meats , cheeses, and toppings to be stuffed between two halves of a gutted pickle instead of the usual slices of bread.

Brothers Joseph and Anthony Fiorito run the sandwich joint, which has seen an influx of customers from as far as Florida and Boston eager to sample the viral creation.

Californians have even been on the blower, enquiring if the deli could post the sandwiches across the country. An excited Joseph told Fox 5: "We're selling 250 to 300 pickles a day. I was going to be off today. I want to be here, it's so exciting."

Due to the soaring demand for pickles, the brothers have significantly increased their orders from their pickle supplier, now requesting 1,400 percent more than they used to.

"In the past two days, we went through 13 pails of pickles," Anthony revealed to Fox 5.

The deli announced on Instagram that it's experiencing longer queues than usual, with fans keen to try out the pickle sandwich. To ensure regulars aren't left waiting, a special ordering window for the pickle sandwiches has been introduced.

The Instagram post expressed a warm welcome to new patrons while also acknowledging the importance of their long-standing customers: "We want to welcome all our new customers to Seven Brothers! But, we also want to consider our customers who have become family over the years," the message stated.

Pickles have been the latest obsession with Gen Zs. In 2023, GrubHub reported a 89 percent increase in pickle orders over the year before. Yelp found searches for pickle-flavored foods were up 55 percent on its platform.

Gabby, under the handle @gabbyparmesan, was one of the first to send the pickle sandwich viral with her taste test video in May, which has since racked up 4.3 million views.

"If you love pickles, this is perfect," she exclaimed in the video. "This is seriously the best thing ever. It's a little bit messy just cause the pickle juice is dripping, but this is awesome."

In the comments section, fans were buzzing about the idea. One person commented: "I need this in my life."

Another enthused: "Looks like a hangover cure! ! " and suggested, "Salt and vinegar chips and an ice cold coke would go insane on the side."
