( WJET/WFXP ) — Pennsylvania State Police are warning the public about a recent phone scam involving the Megan’s Law Unit.

According to PSP Lewis Run, they’ve received several reports of unknown callers contacting residents pretending to be from PSP’s Megan’s Law Unit and that there’s a warrant for their arrest.

To satisfy the warrant, targets are being told they’re required to pay unspecified amounts of money.

State police are reminding residents they will never accept money to satisfy warrants and to hang up the phone and then block the number if they’re contacted.
