HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico County has relaunched a survey it is using to hear from residents about its next Comprehensive Plan.

The Comprehensive Plan is Henrico’s vision for what the county will look like in 2045. The county’s Department of Planning is working to determine the goals and objectives for the plan, which is expected to focus on improvements for pedestrians and bicyclists, and wants to hear from “residents and other stakeholders” about what they would like to see.

The survey will be online until July 31, after which the county will host several public meetings in order to discuss its plans with the community.

“In those meetings, we will present a draft vision, goals and objectives and ask for feedback,” said Henrico Planning Director Joe Emerson. “We want our residents to provide their input and stay engaged because the Comprehensive Plan will help create the community where they will live, work and play for many years to come.”

The county began the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan in 2021 and the survey was initially active during the spring of 2022, during which around 670 participated. The county’s current Comprehensive Plan, which is called Vision 2026, was adopted in 2009.
