The 63-year-old actor, who has been battling Parkinson’s since 1991, didn’t let the disease stop him from living his best life as he took the stage in a wheelchair after being introduced to the crowd by frontman, Chris Martin .

“Here’s another legendary Michael, one who just totally rocks,” Martin exclaimed as Fox wheeled on stage with an electric guitar in his hand. “With his Chuck Berry riff and the way he punched Biff: ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Michael J. Fox .”

Fox accompanied the group for two songs, “Humankind” and “Fix You.” Following his time on stage, Martin expressed to the crowd how much Fox meant to Coldplay , calling him their “hero” and crediting him for their existence.

“The main reason we’re in a band is because of Back to the Future ,” Martin shared with the crowd according to Variety . “So thank you to Michael, our hero.”
