OAKWOOD, Ill. (WCIA) — In Vermilion County, Sunday was the final day to enjoy a funnel cake, get on some rides, and relax with the cool breeze.

Justin Richison, Board President of the Vermilion County Fair, said this year they made prices reasonable. People paid $10 dollars for unlimited rides and could stay as long as they wanted. It was all part of an effort to keep getting better each year.

“It’s a learning experience for me,” Richison said. “Since this is my first year, I’m seeing how this year goes. Once this fair’s over, I’ll kind of have a better idea on where my weaknesses and my strengths are so that we can build upon that for next year.”

He said they’re already planning to bring the carnival back during the last week of June 2025.
