The Top 10 NFL Quarterback Prospects In 2025 According To A Major Media Analyst

The NFL Draft isn't until next April, but who doesn't love some draft talk in the summer? College football analyst Phil Steele put out his top quarterback prospects, who could hear their name called next April.

    10. Miller Moss, USC

Moss is unknown since there was a quarterback in front of him at USC in the past couple of years named Caleb Williams, who was selected first overall two months ago. Knowing head coach Lincoln Riley, he will prepare Moss to be an NFL quarterback this season since his track record is suitable for turning middle-round draft picks into very high picks in their last college season, like Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Jalen Hurts.

    9. Kyle McCord, Syracuse

Kyle McCord had the dream job last season as the starting quarterback at Ohio State. Still, the Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day and McCord decided to move in different directions this offseason, and McCord moved up east, where he will be starting at Syracuse. The Orange is a better fit for the senior quarterback. He won't have high expectations and will get to play loose, which could help him rise draft boards this spring.

    8. Cam Ward, Miami

Like McCord, Cam Ward found a new home this offseason when he decided to leave Washington State and head down south to play at Miami. At first, Ward was going to enter this year's NFL Draft and not return to school, but after thinking about it a little, he decided he needed another year of college before he headed to the NFL.

    7. Conner Weigman, Texas A&M

Conner Weigman won the starting quarterback job out of fall camp last season but only saw four games after a foot injury in late September, which kept him out the rest of the season. The Aggies season was a disaster after Weigam was lost for the remainder of it and head coach Jimbo Fisher was fired; now Duke head coach Mike Elko is the new man in College Station and will try to get Texas A&M back on track, and Weigman into one of the best quarterbacks in the sport.

    6. Quinn Ewers, Texas

Quinn Ewers was a hot name to be picked high in the 2024 draft but decided to return to Austin for one more season. Texas was a few plays away from a national championship appearance last season, and now Ewers will be looking to play in the title game, but it will be a lot more difficult this season because Texas is heading to the SEC. The Longhorns have a tough schedule playing Michigan, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, so if he performs well in those games, it could help him get his named call in the early part of Round One next year.

    5. Jalen Milroe, Alabama

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3ghYN0_0uAmjcNS00

Jalen Milroe had a rough time in his first couple weeks as the Alabama starter last season, losing to Texas in Week Two and then losing his starting job the next week before getting it back and then would go on a roll, beating Georgia and making the playoffs but losing to Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Milroe saw his head coach, Nick Saban, retire this offseason and be replaced with Kalen DeBoer, who might be a quarterback whisperer. DeBoer turned Michael Penix Jr. into a Top 10 pick last season, and now he will try to do the same with Milroe.

    4. Drew Allar, Penn State

Drew Allar had an up-and-down season as a first-year starter in 2023, but he is looking to show off his skills in Happy Valley this season and hopefully make himself a first-round pick. One thing hurting Allar at the moment is that the wide receivers around him aren't the best. He must rely on a young guy like Kaden Saunders or transfer receiver Julian Fleming from Ohio State.

    3. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0x9RQP_0uAmjcNS00

Shedeur Sanders is the most popular college football player due to his dad, Deion Sanders, the head coach of Colorado, where Sheduer plays. Last season, Sheduer got his first taste of Division One FBS after playing a few seasons at Jackson State, an FCS school. Sanders showed why he could be the first quarterback taken in this upcoming NFL Draft, and if he has another season as he did in 2023, there is a good chance he will be the first quarterback to hear his name called next year.

    2. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1oTbs9_0uAmjcNS00

J axson Dart can take Ole Miss places they haven't been to in a while, and they have the team to do it. Dart will be overshadowed by Georgia's quarterback Carson Beck in the SEC this season, who could be the first quarterback taken next year, but don't sleep on Dart having a great year and putting himself in the conversation for the first quarterback taken.

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2jdBFb_0uAmjcNS00

Carson Beck right now is the leader in the clubhouse to be the first quarterback drafted next year, and even though he plays at the best school in college football, Georgia, and has many playmakers around him, he still is a great player and has a lot of abilities that will translate to the next level.
