She sold the company in 2017 before moving to Mexico and is now fostering a healthy lifestyle while living in Tulum through her culinary experience, known as the “Gratitude Gathering” with Boho Vegano.

Che’z Cocco is a small, Afro-Mexican-owned brunch spot in Tulum. The restaurant pays homage to the owner, Cocco Zárate, home of Ometepec Guerrero. Located on Mexico’s Pacific Coast, the town is in a region known as Costa Chica, which is known to have the largest Afro-Mexican population.
While most people who identify as Afro-Mexican are along Mexico’s west coast, restaurants like Che’z Cocco give travelers insight into Afro-Mexican cuisine. The menu is a fusion of cuisines, including pancakes, crepes, enchiladas, burritos, and the Mexican breakfast dish chilaquiles. Everything on the menu is natural and worth giving a try.
