OSAGE COUNTY ( KSNT ) – The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is warning drivers of flood dangers in Osage County which have forced parts of US-56 to close Monday.

Two alerts on kandrive.gov show sections of US-56 are closed to traffic on July 1 due to flooding from heavy rainfall . The first warning, set to expire at 4 p.m., concerns the area between I-335 and KS-78 around five miles east of the Admire area. KDOT will have flaggers on the road signaling of flooding on US-56. Drivers will need to find alternative routes between KS-78 and the Kansas Turnpike entrance.

The second warning concerns the US-56 between Burlingame and where it meets US-75. US-56 is closed in both directions in this area with flooding occurring at other locations between Burlingame and US-75.
