HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A hearing and trial date is set for Marlin Weisheit.

The hearing is set for July 25 and the trial has been set for November 19.

Warrick Co. Health Department investigation leads to an additional arrest

Weisheit is facing conversion and official misconduct charges stemming from his work with the Warrick County Health Department.

Weisheit had an initial hearing Monday morning. Indiana State Police Detectives says that Warrick County Commissioners appointed Weisheit as the interim Health Administrator in December, but due to Indiana Law only the Health Officer can make such an appointment. Because of this, Weisheit was considered to be an independent contractor and not an employee of the health department.

Officials say that Weisheit wasn’t appointed until April. They say that Weisheit knew he was not an employee, but still requested and was paid over $9,000 from health department funds without approval.

Officials say that Weisheit also used the Health Officer stamp to transfer health department funds to pay a lease agreement between Liberty Concepts and the Warrick County Commissioners without knowledge or approval.
