John Wick director Chad Stahelski and his production company are producing an English-language remake of Kill, the upcoming Hindi-language action thriller.

Stahelski and his 87Eleven Entertainment will helm the remake of the film, which is set to release in theaters on July 4, 2024, made news last year when Lionsgate acquired the North American and U.K. rights to the film, making it one of the first instances ever of a Hollywood studio acquiring a Hindi-language film.

While nothing is known about the remake as of now, Stahelski praised the upcoming project in a statement, calling the original film one of the most creative action movies he’d ever seen.

“Kill is one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies I’ve seen recently,” said 87Eleven Entertainment’s Chad Stahelski. “Nikhil delivers relentless action sequences that need to be seen by as wide an audience as possible. It’s exciting to be developing an English-language version—we have big shoes to fill and I’m looking forward to working with Nikhil, Karan, Apoorva, Guneet, and Achin to achieve that.”

    What is Kill about?

Kill is written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. The film stars Lakshya as Amrit, Tanya Maniktala as Tulika, Raghav Juyal as Fani, Ashish Vidyarthi as Beni, Harsh Chhaya as Baldev Singh Thakur, Abhishek Chauhan as Viresh, Parth Tiwari as Siddhi, and more. It is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain.

“When army commando Amrit finds out his true love Tulika is engaged against her will, he boards a New Delhi-bound train in a daring quest to derail the arranged marriage,” reads the synopsis. “But when a gang of knife-wielding thieves led by the ruthless Fani begin to terrorize innocent passengers on his train, Amrit takes them on himself in a death-defying kill-spree to save those around him — turning what should have been a typical commute into an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride.”
