Birthday parties are notoriously uncomfortable when everyone gathers around to sing to the guest of honor. But for one distinguished Maltipoo named Pilot, it's all perfectly fine—as long as he gets some cake in the end!

On June 29, 2024, Mary Grace Aniciete ( @marygraceaniciete ) shared the precious video of Pilot's reaction to being sung to and he takes it all in stride. Take a look at the birthday boy's proud little face!

The video opens with Pilot sitting at a table full of food like cake, corn-on-the-cob, asparagus, steak, and more. As the star of the show, Pilot is dressed to the nines in a blue Hawaiian shirt and fun party hat. He patiently sits while everyone sings to him, regularly eyeing the food but keeping his composure. This boy has great manners, waiting until the very end to make a move on the food. This is one birthday party he'll never forget.

Of the more than 442k likes and thousands of comments, plenty of Pilot's fans stopped by to comment birthday wishes, while some joked of feeling envious of Pilot's popularity!

"He wants the song to end so he can start eating. Super cute," one person wrote. "I’ve never seen a more distinguished gentleman," another noted. "He’s truly loved and he knows it," another added.

How To Throw A Party For Your Dog

According to the American Kennel Club, throwing a party for your dog doesn't have to be a headache—if you take into consideration dogs' needs in terms of food and activity. Consider making a dog-friendly cake or baking a batch of homemade dog treats separate from what the humans have to avoid any potentially harmful issues.

To liven things up for the pooches in attendance, the AKC suggests planning a few games such as:

    • Hide-and-Seek: Have each dog’s owner hide somewhere in the party space then see who can get their dog to find them first.

    • Musical Sits: The doggy version of musical chairs, this game requires a mat or towel for the number of participants minus one. When the music starts, each person walks around the mats with their dog. When the music stops, each dog is to sit on a mat. The dog left without a mat is out of the game. Remove one mat each round and repeat until a single dog and handler team are left victorious.

    • Bobbing for Treats: Fill a kiddie pool with water then sprinkle with treats. Let the dogs take turns snatching up snacks.

    • Snuffle Time: Hide food-stuffed toys around the space and let the dogs search for them. Be sure you have more toys than dogs to prevent competition.

    • Simon Says: Each dog owner team must follow an obedience instruction like “sit” or “down.” The slowest team to respond each round is out until only the fastest team remains as the winner.

And most of all, this is a celebration for your pup, so celebrate them with all the love and pets they deserve!
