GRAYSON COUNTY (KDAF) — Get ready for growth in Grayson County, just north of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Construction starts this week on the Cottonwood development, a big project by Centurion American . Spanning nearly 700 acres between Sherman and Gunter in Dorchester, Cottonwood is expected to bring 2,156 residential lots to the area.

The community’s design has two amenity centers, open spaces, and trails—great for active lifestyles. Additionally, plans include areas for two schools and adjacent parklands, ensuring a family-friendly environment.

“As the economic engine in Grayson County accelerates, we are proud to help facilitate the growth of communities to support the skilled workforce these high-tech employers will require,” Sean Terry, VP of Entitlements at Centurion American Development Group, said in a news release. “It is a real honor to be helping lead Dorchester into this next phase of growth.”

Keep watch as Cottonwood unfolds—bringing new homes, jobs, and community spaces to Grayson County.
