Full Circle Moment: Bride Shoots Hoops With Dad One Last Time Before Her Wedding
By Taylor Cunningham,
This daughter spent her final night as a single woman doing what she’d done for years—shooting hoops with her dad.
Tori Johnson said “I do” to her now-husband, Cooper, during a lavish wedding on June 8, and the two have been eagerly settling into their new lives together. But before walking down the aisle, Tori, spent a bittersweet night with her father, enjoying something they’d been doing since Tori was in middle school, bonding over basketball.
In a TikTok post, Tori shared a bittersweet video with her followers that captured their last game before Tori headed to the alter. She and her dad chatted while they tossed the ball in the net. And while we can’t hear what they said, their laughs and smiles proved they were lost in great conversation. The father-daughter duo also took breaks to dance in between shots. In a caption, she explained the backstory.
Sobbed putting this together. Feeling incredibly blessed to have been raised by such an amazing family and to be joining another. No better way to spend my final night at home Today is the day!!! #fatherofthebride #wedding #weddingday #bride #2024bride
“One day you’re playing basketball at home with your dad before you start 7th grade,” she wrote. “And the next, you’re playing the night before you get married.”
Steve Martin’s famous dialogue from Father of the Bride played in the background, which was perfectly fitting.
We’re All Sobbing Along With The Beautiful Bride
Tori admitted that she “sobbed” while she edited the video, but she feels “incredibly blessed to have been raised by such an amazing family and to be joining another.”
“No better way to spend my final night at home,” she added. “Today is the day!!!”
After a few weeks online, the sweet video caught the attention of millions, and many of those people shared that her video made them cry just like her.
“I am emotional for you,” a follower commented.
“Well, just cried, good night,” another wrote.
“This is heartbreaking but also beautiful ,” someone added.
“Cool, now I’m crying thinking about my daughter’s wedding that’s roughly 20-25 years away,” another person admitted.
