Ten Somerset County athletes were named to the Pennsylvania Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team on Monday.

Somerset sophomore pitcher Braeden Flower and junior outfielder Lane Lambert were first-team selections while junior catcher Callen Miller earned a nod on the second team in Class 3A.

"I am very proud of Braeden, Lane and Callen, and happy they got the recognition they deserved from their productive seasons," said Somerset coach Jimmy Mayer. "Their hard work and dedication in the offseason paid off immensely this year. Not only are they great ball players but they are even better young men and represent Somerset baseball with class, on and off the field."

In Class 2A, North Star senior pitcher Vance Kimmel, shortstop Connor Yoder and outfielder Cayden Turner were each named to the first team.

"I'm very proud of these three guys," North Star coach Jake Klukaszewski. "I've never had a player be named all-state, and now to have not one, not two, but to have three named to the all-state team is tremendous. We have seen growth, talent and selflessness from these three guys for three seasons, now. To see them be recognized among the state's elite baseball players is truly something special. I could not be prouder of these three, and I could not be more humbled to have coached them for the majority of their high school careers."

Kimmel went 8-0 with an 0.33 ERA in 12 appearances. He did not allow a run until the PIAA semifinals. Kimmel struck out 64 in 42 innings of work.
