Great friends make the world go 'round. Charly the Maltese agrees and can't wait to play with her friends Peggy and Polly, whom she hasn't seen in far too long.

In a heartwarming TikTok post shared by Charly the Maltese ( @charlythemaltese13 ), this precious pup can't contain her excitement when she learns she's about to reunite with old friends. Check out their adorable meetup and get ready to smile!

"Charly gets invited to her friend Peggys house and Peggys cousin Polly!" the caption reads with an opening shot of Charly sitting outside on the deck. When her mom asks, "Do you want to go see Peggy?" the tiny but might pup instantly perks up. Mom asks again just to be sure, and she happily sprints down the stairs and out where she thought they'd be.

"It's been so long, she forgot how to get to their house," the writing says as Mom guides Charly toward the correct path. Moments later, and with reassurance from her mom, it all comes back to her and she remembers where to go. Through the grass and around the back to where the fence meets, there's Peggy, a light brown pug so happy to see her friend. While they hop up against the fence, Polly runs up to say hello, too.

By the time Charly's mom gets to the neighbor's yard, all three pups are enjoying playtime together.

"I love dogs that have friends," one person wrote. "I’ve had a rough week and this super sweet baby soothed my soul thank you for sharing," another shared. "The constant looking back for reassurance is so sweet," another added.

How to Have a Successful Doggy Play Date

Charly agrees—there's nothing like a good time with good friends. According to the American Kennel Club, hosting a puppy playdate is a great way to help socialize your dog, but keep a few things in mind before doing so. To be safe, all dogs should be vaccinated, taking preventative flea, tick, and heart worm medications, and possibly even insured in the event a bite or accident happens.

Before planning your puppy's first playdate , understand your dog's needs and behaviors and offer a friend similar in temperament and size. Pick a good location with enough room for exploration, make sure they have plenty of breaks so they're not overstimulated, and as always, keep a watchful eye until the date concludes.

Not everyone will get along as well as Charly, Peggy, and Polly, but with a little planning, your dog can look forward to making and seeing new friends, too!
