CANANDAIGUA — Two men are facing firearm and drug charges after an investigation involving several police agencies in Ontario and Monroe counties in addition to state, federal and out-of-state agencies.

Cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and other drugs, guns and cash were seized after 20 search warrants, seven in Ontario County and 13 in Monroe, were executed June 26, according to Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione.

Reinaldo Suarez, 51, of Rochester and Oscar Alvarado, 30, of Greece were charged with being felons in possession of a firearm/ammunition and with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Suarez and Alvarado are being held in the Monroe County Jail without bail.

The local search warrants, as well as one each in New York City, Connecticut and Massachusetts, were the result of a seven-month investigation into the sale and distribution of narcotics in Ontario County, specifically the Geneva area, Cirencione said in a press statement.

This investigation is ongoing, and others may be charged. No other information related to the case is being released at this time, Cirencione said in the statement.

Here's what police said was seized as part of the investigation: 6 kilograms of cocaine, 2 kilograms (total) of heroin and fentanyl, 100 fentanyl pills, 100 ecstasy pills, 34 Oxycodone pills, 130 grams of methamphetamine, 72 bottles of a liquid believed to be animal tranquilizer, 2.6 pounds of marijuana, nine firearms, $150,000 in cash and 14 motor vehicles.

This investigation was conducted by the Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, Yates and Monroe County Sheriff’s offices; the New York and Connecticut state police; the Geneva, Canandaigua, Rochester, Greece and Springfield, Mass., police departments; the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and Drug Enforcement Administration; U.S. postal inspectors; the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office; and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
