    Wayne County man sentenced to more than 12 years for pandemic fraud

    EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A Wayne County man is behind bars after committing pandemic fraud.

    The United States Attorney’s Office says 36-year-old Christopher Miller, formerly of Newfoundland, was sentenced on June 28 to more than 12 years in prison following his convictions of bank fraud, and other related charges.

    Governor Shapiro announces property tax distribution, rebates for 2023

    Officials say Miller filed more than 50 fraudulent applications for pandemic stimulus funds.

    Some of the applications submitted by Miller were filed on behalf of corporate entities.

    Miller and his associates secured over $2,100,000 in pandemic stimulus funds.

    Miller was sentenced to 149 months in prison and five years of supervision after his release.
