    Local shop employees rescue children from car fire in Wilmington, DE

    The Wilmington Fire Department and good Samaritans are being praised for their efforts in rescuing two children from a car fire.

    The fire department reports the car fire broke out Monday night around 7:30 p.m. near A & South Walnut Street.

    Once firefighters arrived on scene, they learned that local shop employees helped to get the two children, an eight-month-old and a five-year-old, out of the burning car.

    The children’s mother was able to escape as well and both her and her children were taken to the local hospital where they are recovering from serious burns.
