My TikTok For You Page has become an endless pit of buzzy new beauty products, each of them making bold claims about how good they are—enrobed in cutesy packaging, of course. Some of them truly hold up to their social media fame (i.e. the Vacation Whipped Sunscreen ), but there are plenty others that fall short, miss the mark completely or aren’t suitable for every skin tone, which is a big pass for me. However, there’s one product that recently stopped me mid-scroll: the Kopari Sunglaze Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen. After a deep dive into the product and several reviews later, I knew I had to try it out for myself. Before I take you through my testing process, here’s everything you need to know about the product.

What is the Kopari Sunglaze Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen?

The Kopari Sunglaze offers a unique take on classic spray sunscreen (what’s up, Banana Boat). Instead of your usual aerosol can, Sunglaze comes in a light pink spray bottle that shows off the product's pink pearlescent shimmer, but I’ll get more into that later. The body mist is also fragranced with Kopari's signature sweet coconut milk scent, making it ideal for a sunny tropical getaway.

Per its description, this sunscreen is lightweight, fast-absorbing, sweat and water-resistant for up to 80 minutes and has SPF 42. With hyaluronic acid and vitamins C and E, the product claims to hydrate and nourish the skin, all while brightening and protecting against UV damage.

How I Tested the Kopari Sunglaze Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen

To put this sunscreen to the test, I packed it on a week-long trip to the West Coast (Las Vegas specifically), where I knew I would spend lots of time in the sun. And if you know anything about Vegas sunshine, it’s anything but friendly. I was going to need all the protection I could get. I also knew that my hotel had several pools that would let me test how this sunscreen fared after a day of lounging and swimming.

My first road bump with this product happened way before the trip even started; it happened while I was packing. Many beauty lovers know the struggle of trying to pack your fave products, hoping TSA will be more lenient with their strict guidelines. The 3-1-1 rule has, for sure, made an enemy out of me. PSA for my carry-on only girlies: This sunscreen is 4.7 oz, meaning you should stow it away in your checked baggage. Alas, I am a chronic over-packer, so the decision to check a bag was easy for me.

    Application

For the application, I would spray it on liberally before I stepped out for the day and keep it in my bag to reapply as needed. The label says to reapply the mist approximately every two hours for optimal protection. This spray is extremely user-friendly and comes out in a continuous fine mist. I feel like some aerosols tend to get jammed or gunked up with product, but I didn’t have that problem here.

    My Review

Now, let’s get into how the Sunglaze felt on my skin, and if it actually protected me from the sun. I used the SPF on busy days when I knew I would be in the sun for a while. When I'm on vacation, I love exploring the area on foot, so I anticipated lots of walking and sweating, which would really put this product to the ultimate test. The mist itself is very cooling and feels refreshing on the skin. I did have to rub it in slightly after spraying it, which isn’t uncommon with SPF sprays. It absorbed quickly and left no residue—just a soft glow in its place. Throughout the day, my skin had no indication of a sunburn. The final test came after a pool day, where I laid in the glaring sun for hours (no umbrella, btw), took a quick swim, laid some more and later, left the pool unscathed. Phew.

One of the main features I gravitated towards initially was the light pearlescent shimmer swirling around in the bottle. I’m not afraid of a little glitter on my skin and usually welcome it during warm weather, so my skin has a nice glow to it. To be honest, I was worried that this product would leave a white cast on a darker complexion, but I was mistaken. The sunscreen is incredibly sheer, so sheer that I even used it as a body oil. In many of the video reviews I watched, customers would also apply this sunscreen before a night out, claiming it adds a polished look to your skin and I definitely agree. I applied it before I went to dinner one night and it gave my skin a nice shine without feeling sticky or heavy.

    Summary

Overall, I think this is a great SPF product that’s worth the hype. That said, even though I really enjoy using it, $39 for a SPF mist is a bit much, especially when you compare it to other spray-on sunscreens that come with more product at a fraction of the price. However, I do see myself purchasing another bottle after this current one is empty because it really is one of the best sunscreen sprays I’ve ever tried. I guess I’ll just have to save money elsewhere!
