    Louisiana-based home health company nearing major merger

    Amedisys says its roughly $3.3 billion merger with UnitedHealth Group will close in the second half of 2024. The Baton Rouge-based company plans to divest some home health care centers after the deal closes. The number and location of the centers that will be sold were not disclosed. However, VitalCaring Group, a Dallas-based home health and hospice company with locations from Oklahoma to Florida, will acquire the facilities.

    Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” pulled in an additional $57 million during its third weekend, meaning the sequel has officially grossed more than $1
    billion dollars at the global box office. Coming in No. 2 at the domestic box office this weekend, A Quiet Place: Day One with $53 million for its opening weekend. That figure is well ahead of an expected $40 million-plus debut.

    On Wall Street, stock futures are lower despite closing slightly higher on Monday.
