North Carolina man charged with murder of his wife

RICHLANDS, N.C. (WNCT) — An Onslow County man has been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife in an incident that happened on June 22.

Deputies with the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Aharon Anschutz, 42, for the death of his wife, Danielle Anschutz. He was charged with second-degree murder and was being held in the Onslow County Detention Center under a $1 million secured bond. An investigation continued Monday evening.

Officials said deputies responded just before midnight on June 22 to a home on Hinston Lane for an unresponsive woman. They found Anschutz, 38, at the front door of her home. She was found with a gunshot wound to her head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation by deputies with the sheriff’s office said the couple had a fight that escalated with Aharon Anschutz killing his wife. He was found at the scene and taken into custody without incident.
