Over 500,000 blender parts have been recalled by Vitamix following dozens of reported injuries due to fault parts, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced recently.

The recalled products include 8- and 20-ounce Ascent and Venturist Series blending containers and blade bases sold on Vitamix.com, Amazon, Walmart, Costco and elsewhere. Find all the details, including what to do if you own one of these recalled blenders, below.

    Vitamix Blender Recall

Vitamix has issued a recall on all Ascent and Venturist Series 8-ounce blending containers, 20-ounce blending containers, and blade bases. "The clear containers and black blade bases are included with certain Vitamix Venturist and Ascent Series blenders, such as the Venturist V1200, Ascent A2300, Ascent A2500, Ascent A3300, and Ascent A3500 blenders; and also sold separately, as sets, or bundles in various configurations," the CPSC noted in the announcement.

This recall follows reports of 27 injuries caused by faulty blade bases and containers separating, thereby exposing dangerous blades. The blenders themselves are safe for use; it is only these parts, which, as noted, may have been sold separately, that pose a risk.

If you are in possession of a Vitamix blender with these recalled parts, the company urges you to stop using the blending containers and blade bases immediately. You should contact Vitamix for a repair kit "consisting of a protective plastic shroud to attach over the blade base and additional instructional labels" to resolve the issue.

Vitamix assures customers that safety is a priority and all products "undergo extensive testing."

Staying educated on recalls like this one is a crucial part of keeping you and your household safe and healthy.

Other recent recalls that should be on your radar include phone chargers that have caught on fire and glass coffee mugs resulting burns and injuries .
