M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap Gets New Trailer Ahead of Release

Warner Bros is prepping us for their summer releases by dropping a second trailer for the upcoming thriller from M. Night Shyamalan, Trap , and this one gives us even more detail than the extended first trailer that packs the twists in early .

Following a father and daughter at a concert for superstar singer Lady Raven, the night takes a twist when it becomes clear that they have unknowingly walked into a sting operation designed to catch "The Butcher", a local serial killer.

The brand new trailer for the film starring Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue and Saleka Shyamalan takes its own twist in being more straightforward than the first, setting the audience up to believe that Hartnett's character is the reason for all the chaos.

A blood-curdling scream rips through the audience in the opening before we get some exposition from an employee in the arena who reveals to Hartnett's character that the sting is in operation.

We then see a series of suspicious events from Hartnett, who patrols the arena while the concert is in action, suggesting that he might be the one the cops are after.

But if we have learned anything from the two-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind The Sixth Sense , we can likely expect a plot twist or two along the way.

Trap is only in theaters from August 2.
