Fostering dogs is a beautiful thing to do for pups who need a safe and loving place to land as they wait to find their forever homes, but by no means is it easy. Even without the part where you eventually have to say goodbye to a pup that you no doubt fell in love with, being a foster mom means having practically unlimited amounts of patience. The foster dog who temporarily joins your family may be dealing with trauma and neglect, which means it could take them awhile to open up to you.

But when they do? That's where the magic really happens. It won't take place overnight, or maybe even in the first weeks you're together. But when your foster dog is comfortable with you, they'll find a way to let you know — and the moment may end up being just as sweet as the one captured in the TikTok video below.

On Sunday, June 30, @tracyfosterling shared the most special moment that happened just as her foster dog, a Great Pyrenees puppy named Daphne, finally started making herself comfortable at home.

This marks the first time that the pup got caught lounging on her foster mama's bed, which was against the rules... but the fact that she felt comfortable enough to even break a rule in the first place speaks volumes about the kind of progress she's making already.

Daphne was in no rush to jump down, either, though she did look a bit sheepish; she totally knew that she had been caught doing something she wasn't supposed to do! In the end, this sweet girl won — her foster mom wrote in the comments that she let her stay. Aww.

It would be hard to tell a face like that no... especially just as she's getting settled into her new home.

    Daphne's Story

Daphne's foster mom has been sharing her story on TikTok, right down to the first day she brought her home at the end of May. Daphne was a much different dog then; at the time, it was easy to see even in a video how terrified she was.

But she's made so much progress in that time, and she seems to be healthier and happier these days.

And there is good news for this sweet dog: As of last week, Daphne is officially available for adoption as soon as she's spayed.

If you're interested in more information about Daphne, she's available through Camp Chaos Rescue , and you can find an application for adoption on their site. They are asking that she goes to a family with a dog or dogs so that they can help bolster her confidence.

She seems like the sweetest, most gentle giant. I'd let her break all the rules, too!
