White House Reporters Shout At Biden After Speech On Trump Immunity Ruling — Ask Will He ‘Drop Out’; Why Should He Be Prez

Members of the White House press corps shouted questions at President Joe Biden after his speech on the Supreme Court’s decision granting “absolute immunity” for official acts in a case against former President Donald Trump , asking if he’s going to “drop out” and why he thinks he “should be president.”
Two high-profile stories collided Monday, as commentary calling for Biden to drop out of the presidential race have dominated political coverage of CNN’s Biden-Trump debate last Thursday night , and the Supreme Court issued a ruling that has alarmed many.
The Supreme Court released a 6-3 ruling granting “absolute immunity” in the “exercise of his core constitutional powers,” and other powers and restrictions. In a scathing dissent , Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote, among other things, that the ruling leaves presidents free to carry out assassination plots:
The President of the United States is the most powerful person in the country, and possibly the world. When he uses his official powers in any way, under the majority’s reasoning, he now will be insulated from criminal prosecution. Orders the Navy’s Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival? Immune. Organizes a military coup to hold onto power? Immune. Takes a bribe in exchange for a pardon? Immune. Immune, immune, immune.
Biden took to the Roosevelt Room after the ruling to express his agreement with Sotomayor:
I concur with Justice Sotomayor’s dissent today. She said, “In every use of official power, the president is now a king above the law… with fear for our democracy, I dissent.”

As the president turned and walked away from the podium, reporters shouted questions about the debate and his position in the race for the presidency:

REPORTER 2: Why are you the best Democrat to beat Trump?
REPORTER 1: What makes you so confident you should be the president?
REPORTER 3: What advice did your family give you, Mr. President?
