Netflix is dropping some incredible content this July in the form of films and specials that will do everything from hook you with heart-pounding drama to transport you on an epic journey from the comforts of home. Whether you’re looking for something funny, informative, or inspiring, Netflix has got you covered. Keep reading for the streamer’s best new movies coming in July.
Netflix is releasing two standout original films this month, with Eddie Murphy-led action comedy Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F in early July and later, the Harry Connick Jr.-helmed musical romantic-comedy Find Me Falling , which are both poised to potentially land in the Netflix Top 10 .
Additionally, in the first part of the month, Netflix will debut some terrific titles from all over the world, like Wild Wild Punjab , The Imaginary , and Vanished into the Night .
Lastly, in the back half of Netflix’s July streaming slate, you can look forward to gripping original documentaries like Skywalkers: A Love Story and Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa , which are sure to open both your mind and heart this month.

Eddie Murphy reprises his role of detective Axel Foley for the fourth installment of his hit Beverly Hills Cop action comedy film series. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F picks up with Axel 40 years after his first big case as he returns to Beverly Hills to protect his estranged daughter, Jane (Taylour Paige), after her life is threatened. The two will team up with Jane’s ex, Detective Bobby Abbott (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and some of Axel’s old friends in order to crack a conspiracy and save the day.
When his comeback album fares poorly with the masses only cementing his steady decline in popularity, aging rock star John Allman (Harry Connick Jr.) retreats to a cliffside home on the idyllic Mediterranean island Cyprus to take a break and reclaim his spark. But when his meditative time in isolation is interrupted by unwanted visitors and an old flame, John just may get exactly what he’s been needing in the place he least expects (or initially even wants) to find it.
Wild Wild Punjab is a Netflix original romantic comedy out of India that follows a group of guys on a chaotic and entertaining caper. After Khanne (Varun Sharma) goes through a rough breakup, his friends attempt to heal his broken heart and give him closure by facing things head-on. This, naturally, leads them on the “break-up trip” of a lifetime as they travel across Punjab to crash Khanne’s ex’s wedding, with no shortage of bromance-filled hilarity and mayhem occurring along the way.
This Netflix Original Japanese animated fantasy film is set in a world where imaginations can come literally alive as people create invisible entities called Imaginaries, which only their creators can see. The Imaginary revolves around an Imaginary boy named Rudger (Kokoro Terada) and the best friend who invented him, a young girl named Amanda (Rio Suzuki). After the two get separated, Rudger must join forces with other lost Imaginaries in order to get back to Amanda before he’s forgotten and fades away.
This one-of-a-kind Netflix Original documentary tracks Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus, a daredevil couple from Moscow who have built a terrifying and exhilarating career out of climbing some of the world’s biggest buildings. The pair will take their relationship to brand new heights as they travel the globe to attempt their most dangerous and difficult climb yet, the world’s second highest skyscraper, Malaysia’s Merdeka 118, plus a death-defying acrobatic stunt on the 160-meter-tall spire spire.
In the midst of a contentious divorce, American psychiatrist Elena (Annabelle Wallis) and her complicated Italian former love, Pietro (Riccardo Scamarci) are forced back into each other’s orbit when their two children suddenly disappear. In order to save the kids from the dangerous people who have kidnapped them for ransom, Pietro must embark on a dangerous mission that leaves him questioning reality and full of even more questions than answers.
Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa is a moving and engrossing new documentary about Lhakpa Sherpa, the first ever Nepali woman to climb and survive Mount Everest. Born to yak farmers in rural Nepal, Sherpa wasn’t allowed to get an education or a job due to her gender, leading her to immigrate to the United States to start a new life for herself. Now a single mother working at a Connecticut Whole Foods, the record-breaking mountain climber sets forth on another voyage to summit Everest in order to inspire her daughters and motivate people around the world to never give up on their dreams.
This Netflix Original romantic drama out of Argentina revolves around Goyo (Nicolás Furtado), an autistic man working as a guide at Buenos Aires’ Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. But when he gets a crush on his new coworkers, security guard Eva (Nancy Dupláa), Goyo’s own strict daily routine is disrupted as their unexpected meeting leads to a connection that will challenge the ways they both live and love.
Blame the Game is a German comedy thriller that follows a young man named Jan (Dennis Mojen) as he meets his new girlfriend, Pia’s (Janina Uhse), friends for the first time at the latter’s regular game night. But when Pia’s ex-boyfriend suddenly shows up out of the blue, Jan’s goal to make a good impression on Pia’s friends gets that much harder as the summer game night grows dangerously heated.
Get in the mood for the beginning of the 2024 Paris Olympics with this Spanish sports drama that revolves around Diego (Swit Eme), a hot-headed football phenom who has just been voted Europe’s best young player at the age of 20. Although he seems to have it all, his own impulsiveness and combative nature leads to fights amongst the team that result in benching Diego and having him work with reclusive academic Álex (Dani Rovira) in order to face his fears and improve his behavior.
In addition to all these original titles, come to Netflix this July to watch beloved blasts from the past like 2010 teen romantic comedy Easy A . The film follows clean-cut 17-year-old Olive Penderghast (Emma Stone) as a lie about losing her virginity quickly spins out of control when the fib is spread all over the school and makes Olive suddenly branded with a label of promiscuity that she decides to run with, to surprising results.
